once i spoke the language of the flowers,
once i understood each word the caterpillar said,
once i smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
and shared a conversation with the housefly
in my bed.
once i heard and answered all the questions
of the crickets,
and joined the crying of each falling dying
flake of snow,
once i spoke the language of the flowers. . . .
how did it go?
how did it go?

  1. Molly,
I just got in the door and read your comment on my blog..oh thank you, plan on seeing me around here because I just got my real camera last Christmas and I am still figuring it out. I tried to put it in manual mode for the first time last week and I still can't get the dadgum thing to take decent pics-I never should have messed with it. I so need help. And I love Shel Silverstein, really. Our homeschool group does a poetry read every spring and this past year I had all of them do a SS poem. Look forward to reading your posts!
    Peace,
    Kathy

  2. I'd like to say I have a "real" camera too with all the bells and whistles and interchangeable lenses and stuff but the fact of the matter is that when I bought my current camera (a Nikon P90), I was just too intimidated by the cost and power of the digital SLR cameras since I had no clue how to really use one and maximize its potential.

I love my P90 though. It's a point and shoot with an incredible zoom, the ability to crop photos while they are still on the camera and some other bells and whistles I haven't figured out yet. Still, for a point and shoot, it takes pretty amazing photos.

I really want/need to take a photography class though to I can learn about the digital SLRs and how to use them best. I just can't justify the expense for one of them until then, you know?

Glad you'll be following me...you're my first comment! :-) Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to your return visits!
